Meet the Herd

Red is an 18 year old gelding, strawberry dun, Kiger Mustang Cross. He is a super sweet guy who loves human attention. He is an owner surrender. 

Skeeter is Red's brother and he is a 17 year old strawberry dun, Kiger Mustang Cross gelding. He's also very friendly and loves attention. He can be a very dramatic guy if he's not getting what he wants. 

Olive is a 16-year-old draft cross mare. She came to us nine years ago heavy in foal and gave birth to a colt four months later. She had not been handled much and was not halter broke. Olive is a sweet and calm horse.  

Sparrow is also a 15-year-old draft cross mare. She came with Olive eight years ago. She is very fearful of humans and even after eight years she is still un-trusting. She is a sweet horse and will follow you around like a puppy as long as you don't try to touch her. 

Kolo is the son of Olive. He was born to the sanctuary and is now 8 years old. Kolo is a handsome gelding, who is sweet and sensitive.  He is currently boarded at Windhorse Ranch in Sebastopol. Please inquire if interested in adoption.  

Sweet Pea is approximately 16 year old. She is a sweet petite bay mare. She came with Buddy from a Dude Ranch that sent her to an auction and she ended up in a kill pen. She came with a chronic shoulder and knee injury which makes her un-rideable.

Robin is a buckskin, quarter horse mare. She is in her twenties. She arrived in June of 2020.  She had previously been a broodmare before ending up in a kill pen. Robin is a little shy but warms up once she gets to know you.  She loves to have her bottom scratched and let's you know it by turning her back side to you and patiently waits. 

Coco is a bay quarter horse mare. She is in her twenties. She was a  broodmare in her previous life before she was sent to a kill pen. Coco is an extremely sweet and calm horse that enjoys  attention. Her head is always down and so she reminds us of Eeyore. 

Karma is a 17 year old buckskin paint mare. She is currently being leased by one our volunteers. 

Buddy arrived in early 2020. He is a flea bitten grey gelding and  is approximately 25 years old or older. Buddy worked on a Dude Ranch before being sent to a kill pen. He is a very personable horse, enjoys attention and he is very vocal. When it's time to eat Buddy is at the gate letting you know with his very exuberant neigh. 

Raven is approximately 5 years old and came to us from a kill pen. She is one of the sweetest horses we've met. She  always comes to the gate to greet, and loves attention. She seems to prefer humans over other horses. 

Ruby came from a kill pen and was later adopted out through Pregnant Mare Rescue in Petaluma.
